- Quality of Life
Since our founding, Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC has been committed to providing the highest quality accounting, auditing, tax, and business advisory services. Our “Culture of Excellence” has helped us maintain the highest professional and ethical standards. Those standards are tested every three years under the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) peer review program.
During a peer review, an outside CPA firm performs an in-depth review of the quality of the reviewed firm’s accounting and auditing practice and administrative procedures. At the end of the process, the auditor issues a report of their findings. Similar inspections are performed by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board on the firm’s audits of public companies.
We have successfully participated in the stringent peer review process since 1979 and received unmodified reports on all our peer reviews.
John R. Schnitzer is the firm’s Managing Member, and is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the members and staff in five practice offices located in western Maryland and south central Pennsylvania.
