Matt has more than 22 years of experience providing audit and accounting services to publicly traded and privately held companies ranging from development-stage entities to Fortune 500 companies. He has a broad background serving organizations in the manufacturing, distribution, construction, technology, and financial institution industries, as well as private equity-backed companies. Matt is committed to delivering first class service to each of his clients.
Matt’s experience includes financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, agreed upon procedures, and consultation on complex accounting and financial reporting matters such as derivatives, mergers and acquisitions, revenue recognition, expected credit losses, and other technical accounting areas. He is well-versed in employee benefit plan audits, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans, and has experience with plan events that impact the plan sponsor, such as terminations, settlements, and curtailments. Matt also serves as a team captain on peer reviews performed by SEK.
Matt regularly presents technical accounting training, both internally and externally, on audit and accounting matters. He also serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Assurance & Advisory Efficiency Task Force, which focuses on evaluating technology, streamlining processes, and promoting best practices to enhance efficiency across the service line.
Prior to joining SEK in 2023, Matt spent approximately 20 years split between two international accounting firms.
