Kara Darlington, CPA, CEO of SEK, CPAs & Advisors, has been named to Central Penn Business Journal’s inaugural CPBJ300.
The CPBJ300 was compiled by Central Penn Business Journal staff through research and consideration of recommendations for leaders across more than 28 major sectors, including accounting. Kara began her career with SEK as an intern in 1996 and joined the firm full-time in 1997. Before being named CEO in January 2025, she held several key leadership roles, including Director of Assurance & Advisory, leader of the Employee Benefit Plan Audit practice, Member-in-Charge of the Hanover office, and a member of Management (Executive) Committee.
With 30 years of experience, Kara has earned a reputation for her exceptional client service, strategic thinking, and dedication to mentoring future leaders within the firm.
Kara’s previous recognitions include being named to Forbes’ Best-in-State CPAs list for Pennsylvania in 2025 and 2026, Central Penn Business Journal’s Power 100 list in 2025, and Central Penn Business Journal’s Women of Influence in 2011. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kara serves as Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for Roots for Boots and is a member of the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce.
