As the leader of the firm’s governmental audit practice, Craig has dedicated his career to refining his understanding of the techniques, standards, procedures, ethics, and practices unique to federal, state, and local governmental entities. He is a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) and earned the Advanced Single Audit Certificate from the American Institution of CPAs. With 27 years of experience, he serves as In-Charge of approximately 75 audits each year, many of which receive significant federal funding. He has overseen the implementation of various GASB standards for many of the firm’s governmental clients.
In addition to his client responsibilities, Craig heads SEK’s Governmental Audit Quality Center compliance. He also performs peer reviews of other CPA firms, specializing in reviewing single audit engagements performed by other CPA firms for governmental and nonprofit entities. This provides him with unique insight into the requirements of those types of engagements and allows us to refine our own processes at SEK. He also serves as a member of the firm’s Accounting & Auditing Committee.
Craig is an instructor of SEK’s in-house training programs on governmental accounting and has championed the annual governmental client seminar each year since its inception in 2018.
