Recent News & Blog / On-Demand Pay for Your Employees: Coming Soon to QuickBooks
June 4, 2026
QuickBooks has announced that On-Demand Pay will soon be included as part of QuickBooks Payroll subscriptions. This feature will allow employees to access a portion of their earned (but unpaid) wages through QuickBooks Workforce.
Starting July 2, 2026, On-Demand Pay will be included in your current QuickBooks Payroll subscription at no additional cost and does not require any action from you. However, employers may opt out before the feature becomes available.
QuickBooks is partnering with Clair—a financial technology company—to offer this solution. You can learn more about this feature here.
Details about On-Demand Pay
To enable this feature, Clair will receive limited access to your payroll data, including:
- Business name
- Number of employees
- Business address
- Industry
For employees who enroll in the product, Clair will also get limited employee profile, payroll, and financial information.
Opting out
Employers have control over whether On-Demand Pay is available to their employees. To opt out, go to Shared Data under Payroll Settings and uncheck “Provide earned wage access to employees” before July 2, 2026.
After this feature is enabled, you can opt out at any time by visiting your Payroll Settings. If you opt out, your employees won’t be able to access this feature unless you opt back in.
