If your organization uses any version of QuickBooks Desktop, please be advised that the application is due to sunset in May 2027. This means that critical safety and support features will no longer be available, including:

• Security updates
• Product updates and support
• Connect services, like payroll, QuickBooks payments, and bank feeds

Although no new licenses for QuickBooks Desktop 2024 have been issued after September 30th, 2024, it’s important to note that all QuickBooks Desktop software will be fully unsupported within the next 18 months. While users may be able to access data after the sunset, all online services will be unavailable.  

What options does your organization have?

Although QuickBooks Desktop is sunsetting, QuickBooks offers a variety of applications that your organization either upgrade or convert to, so that your financial operations can continue flow seamlessly. A few of the options you may consider are:

• Desktop Enterprise: Upgrading to Desktop Enterprise would allow your organization to continue using the desktop application.
• QuickBooks Ledger: If your organization is considering converting to the online version of QuickBooks, Ledger is a great, low-cost option for organizations with straightforward accounting needs.
• QuickBooks Online Simple Start: This is designed for single users, like freelancers or solo entrepreneurs to track income and expenses using a simple tool.
• QuickBooks Online Essentials: This is a great option for service-based businesses who invoice for their time, with relatively uncomplicated accounting.
• QuickBooks Online Plus: This option is designed for businesses that sell products and services, allowing for everything from tracking inventory and purchase orders to labor costs and payroll.
• QuickBooks Online Advanced: If you need more complex support and reporting than the other levels, QuickBooks Online Advanced could be a great option.
